PLACING AN ORDER

My child has a long name; how many characters can you support?

We are able to support up to 15 characters.

Can I see a preview of my personalized book before placing an order?

Of course! After you upload your child’s photo and enter in their name, you will have an opportunity to preview the entire book.  

How do I place an order?

You can place an order through this website. Shop and order from our secure site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once you place your order, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll also send you emails to confirm your order and let you know when it’s been shipped.

I want to order more than one book.  Can I ship books to different addresses within the same order?

Sorry, this is not possible at this time. However, you can create separate orders to ship to different addresses.

How do I order a book in a different language?

Right now, our books only come in English. We hope to translate them into other languages soon.

I want to place a bulk order.  Do you offer any discounts?

I want to buy The Newborn Poster but I don't understand the difference between premium matte and velvet rag paper. Help!

We are pleased to offer two different paper options for The Newborn Poster. Both are very high quality and made of thick paper, so you can't go wrong either way. It boils down to a matter of preference.

The Premium Matte paper has a thickness of 300 gsm (grams per square inch) and is a 100 year archival quality photo paper. It offers a crisp white background and is smooth to the touch.

The Velvet Rag paper has a thickness of 310 gsm and is made of a 100% rag cotton base. It has a textured surface, similar to a watercolor paper feel. It also has a subtly antiqued ivory tone.

PAYMENTS

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged when your order is received.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and PayPal.

Do you charge a sales tax?

We charge sales tax in the great states of California and New York. If you live in Canada, there may be an additional tax (e.g. GST, HST) imposed, depending on where you live.

I live in Canada; will I be charged duties?

There will be no additional duties levied on your purchase.

How do I know my transaction is secure?

We use industry-standard encryption technology to make sure your credit card information stays protected. 

UPLOADING A PHOTO

Do you have any tips on which types of photos work best?

Absolutely! The best photos are those that are high resolution. Other tips include:

  • Headshots (eye-level, looking at camera is best)
  • Plain background
  • Good lighting
  • No blur

Which photo formats do you accept?

Please upload your picture in a .jpg, .jpeg or .png file format.

What is the maximum photo file size that I can upload?

Please ensure that your photo is 10MB or less.

What will you do with my photo after my order is placed?

We will retain a copy of your photo on our server in case you would like to use it again for another purchase.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer three shipping methods. Pricing is contingent upon delivery speed.

  • STANDARD ($0.99)
    Arrives 2-9 business days after your is shipped*
  • PRIORITY ($5.99)
    Arrives 2-4 business days after your order is shipped
  • EXPRESS ($39.99)
    Arrives 1 business day after your order is shipped

* Alaska and Hawaii residents: Standard Shipping will take up to 2-4 weeks.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

For expedited shipping, please select the "Express" shipping option which will deliver your book within one business day after your order has been printed.  We cannot ship overnight to PO boxes.

Please note that processing and printing your order takes approximately 3-4 business days.

Which shipping carriers do you use?

We primarily ship via the United States Postal Service and Canada Post, and on occasion FedEx.

Do you ship to PO Boxes?  What about APO, FPO and DPO addresses?

Yes and yes, via our Standard and Priority shipping options. Also, please make sure to include the recipient’s name and rank. For city, enter APO, FPO or DPO, and set the country as the United States.

Do you ship US territories, such as Guam and Puerto Rico?

Unfortunately, we do not ship to these destinations at this time.

Do you ship internationally?

We are pleased to ship to our friends in Canada (with the exception of its three territories: Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut). We hope to ship to more countries soon!

How long will it take for you to ship out my order?

Before going to print, an actual human reviews each personalized book to ensure the photo quality meets our standards and the photo is positioned correctly throughout the book. Please give us a bit of time to make sure your book is perfect!

Barring any issues with the photo, orders are typically sent to our printer within 1 business day. An order takes 3-5 business days to be printed. Once an order is shipped, it can take anywhere between 2-8 business days to arrive, depending on the shipping method you select at checkout.

On the rare occasion there is a delay, we will notify you immediately.

How will I know when my order has been shipped?

Not to worry, we will be sure to let you know via email.

CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS

What if I need to cancel my order?

If you email us (hey@readyourstory.com) immediately after you place an order, we will do our best to cancel the order and reverse your credit card charge. However, we can make no guarantees because we like to process orders and get them prepped for shipment as quickly as possible.   

What if my package has been damaged during shipment?

We want every product we ship to meet our super high quality standards. We also try to make sure your order will get to you safe and sound, but sometimes things happen in transit. So, if your item(s) arrive damaged, don’t fret! All you have to do is email us at hey@readyourstory.com to let us know, and we will be happy to mail you a new item at no cost.  

What if my package is refused or undelivered?

If a package is refused or returned to us unopened, you’ll be charged for the product and shipping costs. If you want us to reship the order, we’re happy to do so, but you’ll have to pay for shipping costs again. Sorry!

To reduce the chances of your package being refused or undelivered, please make sure that the shipping address on your order is accurate and that someone will be available to receive your package.   

What is your return policy?

Due to the fact that these books are 100% personalized and customized to each buyer, we are unable to accept returns.   

GIFT ORDERS

I’m buying this book as a gift. Will the price be printed on the invoice?

We do not include an invoice or packing slip when shipping out our books, therefore no price will be shown when your recipient opens up their package.

Can I include a gift message with my order?

Unfortunately, we can’t include a gift message. We’re working on it though!

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Gift wrap is available in the US only at this time. It is available for purchase in your shopping cart when you check out.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes, we do! They can be found here.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

What does your satisfaction guarantee mean?

We are very confident you will be happy with your order. However, if you are not satisfied, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order and we will do what we can to make things better.

If your book arrives damaged, or if we made an error when producing your order, we will replace your product at no cost to you. Please email us at hey@readyourstory.com and send a photo of the damage or error. We will be happy to send you a replacement or refund your order.

If you need to change your product personalization after placing and/or receiving your order, please email us at hey@readyourstory.com and let us know what needs to be changed. We will charge 50% of the original price plus shipping to re-print and ship your order.

PLEASE NOTE: For our personalized books, the finished product quality is highly dependent on the photo(s) you upload to our site.  For a great-looking book, please upload photos that:

  • Are a minimum resolution of 300 dpi
  • Have the subject facing the camera directly versus off to the side
  • Have good lighting
  • Have no blur
  • Are unobstructed - e.g. no hats, no hands or other objects covering the face, etc.

We can guarantee a fantastic end product if you submit a great photo!
